Therapist Profile

BSc (Hons). MSc. MBPsS. BABCP accred.

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and a graduate member of the British Psychological Association (BPS). I am also a member of the Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (ACAMH)

I have gained insight into the value of Contextual Behavioural Science (ACBS) in theory and practice, both professionally and personally. This is a perspective that i continue to explore, develop, and encourage with clients if it may be helpful.

You can be assured of my competency and character. As an enthusiastic and empathic therapist, I maintain a warm, kind, and sensitive nature when discussing your difficulties; essential for effective, collaborative teamwork.

I can offer a safe space to explore your problems, in which I encourage and enable you to facilitate the necessary changes in your life to achieve your personal goals.

Dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care, I have strong values for learning. I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to develop my interests, knowledge, and skillset with continued professional development and clinical supervision. This enables me to keep up-to-date with research and practice.

Helping people overcome their challenges is something that I really value, so I feel very privileged to share in my client’s journeys at what is often a vulnerable time in their lives. I ensure that I don’t take this for granted, or underestimate how difficult it can be to open up about your difficulties.

My Qualifications Include:

BSc (Hons). Psychology

MSc. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

I found my CBT sessions great, life changing in fact!  … my physical symptoms have improved … CBT has given me the tools to generally improve my confidence, which had been really knocked when I was ill. It has helped me to able to cope much better with my day to day stresses and worries, and I generally feel allot happier.  My CBT sessions helped me to change how I think, and become much more positive and far less negative and irrational.  Now I am able to enjoy things like I used to.

Emma (Client)

I have a passion for person-centred care and believe that therapy can be more helpful when it is tailored to the individual, rather than a particular difficulty. I take an integrative approach, including  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) Skills where appropriate for a particular client. I have received advanced training in CBT for insomnia, and motivational interviewing. These techniques compliment my work across a range of mental health difficulties.

I enjoy working with children and adolescents (age 11+) and adults. I am experienced in working with a wide variety of clients and presenting difficulties, not limited to depression, anxiety disorders, low self-esteem, self-harm, emotion dysregulation, and adjustment difficulties (including long-term health conditions).

I have experience working with clients with Neurological conditions, having worked closely with Headway groups both as a clinician and Trustee in the past. I am keeping this clinical interest alive through my work on an innovative, collaborative project called ‘Inspire Others’ with colleagues in the field.

I have previous work experience supporting NHS IAPT services and further education mental health services across the UK.  I currently see clients in private practice in Thatcham, and with In Therapy Berkshire based in Binfield. I understand that it is not always possible to attend sessions in person, so I also offer remote online sessions using a secure telehealth platform.
